Record Of Three Sisters

The retirement of Miss Joan Carmichael from the nursing staff of the Plunket Society in Auckland brings to an end a combined service of 81 years given to the society by three sisters. Miss Joan Carmichael has been a Plunket nurse for. 29 years; her sister. Mary, who iletired in 1950 had given 27 yearsf service as a Plunket nurse. Another sister. Miss F. E. Carmichael, had been secretary of the Auckland branch when she retired flour years ago. After doing her general nursing and midwifery training in Auckland. Miss Joan Carmichael went to Dunedin for her Plunket training course. She joined the staff of the society in 1928 and has always been attached to the Auckland branch. For a time she was matron of the Karitane Hospital at Mount Eden.
