Altered Classes In December Events

The Waimate Trotting Club has decided to alter the class of the twomile Waimate Cup Handicap event at its December meeting from 4min 44sec to 4min 45sec, and the Roi I’Or Handicap, of one and a quarter miles, from 2min 53sec to 2min 54sec. The stakes for the two events will remain the same.

Horses advancing to these marks now receive a 36 instead of a 48v ard penalty, and by the time of the meeting there should be quite a number of horses assessed on this mark.

The change has been made at the suggestion of the handicapper. Mr R. C. Morton, and following reduced penalties now operating for the class of horse engaged. Messrs J Stewart. Frank Fox. J Slattery. G Berry. and P. McGovern have been added to the list of depot v stewards

Mr C Campbell has been appointed to understudy the assistant judge, and Messrs Frank Fox. W. Lundy, and R.. Wild have been appointed swabbing stewards.
