MINOR FIRES
A garage on a property at 38 London street, Richmond, was damaged by a fire which started in a nearby hedge yesterday morning. Engines froi.. the Central Fire Station put out the fire. There was no vehicle in the garage at the time. The property is occupied by Mr H. C. Robinson. A spark from a shoe-nail set fire to dust in an exhaust trunking on a sole-finishing machine at Suckling Brothers, Ltd.’s footwear factory in Dundas street. Three engines from the Central Fire Station put out the fire before any damage to the premises was caused.
A wall was burnt through and crates stacked inside it were scorched when a pile of packing material caught fire in the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association’s yard in Moorhouse avenue at 3.10 p.m. Two engines from the Central Fire Station attended.
