Africans Killed In Riot
(Rec. 10 p.m.) BLOEMFONTEIN, October 28 Several Africans are believed to have been killed last night after a riot in an African township in Bloemfontein. Dozens of Africans were discharged from hospital after treatment for injuries. The Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Orange Free State. Colonel P. J. du Plessis, said a faction fight broke out between Basutos and Zulus in the municipal compound of an African township in Bloemfontein. The Zulus were badly outnumbered. He said it was not an uprising against the authorities. The position was under control last night and police were detailed to stand by in the (area.
