Sir James Fletcher’s | Impressions
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 22. A leading New Zealand industrialist, Sir James Fletcher, who has returned to New Zealand from San Francisco, after attending an international industrial develop-] ment conference, sponsored by Time-Life International, and the Stanford Research Institute, said today that it was probably the most momentous conference held by the free countries of the world It was attended by a wide range of influential delegates from 60 countries. "With few exceptions, all the nations represented have capital problems almost similar to our own,” he said. "I have brought back an enormous amount of data, which still requires careful digestion and analysis within the next week or two. “I hope to have the opportunity of making public some of the more relevant comments and proposals of interest to New Zealand,'" he said. There were more than 500 delegates at the conference. Considerable interest was shown in New Zealand development, he said.
