Inquiry Into Rail Accident
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. October 22.
A departmental inquiry board is to be set up under the Railways Act to investigate the cause of the accident between two electric multiple unit trains near the Wellington station yesterday morning.
The Minister of Railways (Mr J K. McAlpine) said tonight that a board of inquiry comprising senior railway officers and a service organisation representative would be nominated by the General Manager of Railways (Mr A. T. GandelD.
The board would investigate all the circumstances of the incident and would submit its report and : findings as soon as possible.
