COLOMBO TEA SALES
Dock Trouble Causes
Postponement (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) COLOMBO. Oct. 21. Colombo’s weekly tea auctions were postponed indefinitely today because of the unsettled labour conditions at. the docks, where several thousand chests oi tea for export are already held up. About three thousand workers—about one-third of the port’s working strength—have been going slow since last Friday tn an effort to get employers to open direct talks with their union on wage scales and working conditions.
Other export cargoes besides tea are held up.
