At Least 75 Die In Train Wreck

At least 75 persons died and 100 were injured when the international Simplon-Orient Express and a local train collided on a single-track sector of railway in' Turkish Thrace last night. The final deathroll may be as high as 85. as much debris re-, mains to be cleared. First reports had had the number of dead at 25 - ' x . . , The express, which left Istanbul at 4.30 p.m. yesterday, was due at Salonika at 7.40 a.m. today. The collision occurred between the Yarimburgaz and Ispartakule stations, when the express was on the Istanbul-Edirne ‘Adrianople) stage of its journey.
