H.M.N.Z.S. ROYALIST AT KOBE
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) TOKYO, October 20. The officers and men of the New Zealand cruiser, H.M.N.Z.S. Royalist, under the command of Captain C. D. Pound, today arrived in Kobe, Western Japan, on a five-day goodwill visit which coincides with the city’s annual port festival. During the visit the crew of the Royalist will take part in a series of sports events with local Japanese teams. Men from the British cruiser H.M.S. Newfoundland and the two Australian destroyers. H.M.A.S. Tobruk and Anzac tonight are in Tokyo to do some Christmas shopping. It was the first time in nearly a year that British Commonwealth uniforms had been seen in the streets of the city. The ships, under the command of Rear-Admiral L. C. Durlacher, are making a goodwill visit to Japan.
