FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation: An anti-cyclone extends on to New Zealand from the Central Tasman Sea. A depression is passing far to the south. Forecast:— West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough, except the Kaikoura Coast: Variable winds and fine weather; moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: fair. Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury: Fresh but decreasing southerly winds about and north of Banks Peninsula; winds elsewhere light or moderate and tending easterly; weather fair to cool. Outlook: fair.
