LANCASTER PARK STANDS
Statement By Victory
Park Board
“Although the stands at Lancaster Park are not licensed, the Victory Park Board does comply with any recommendation made by the Christchurch Fire Board, as was done in 1954, when extra seating in No. 3 stand was removed." This statement was made by the Victory Park Board yesterday in a comment on the discussion at a meeting of the Fire Board on Tuesday on Are inspections at Lancaster Park. “This is the only recommendation which the Fire Board has made over a number of years.” the statement said. “In fact, inspections have been carried out periodically by Fire Board officials. A further point is that the Victory Park Board, of its own volition, some time ago provided Are extinguishers in all the stands, and these are serviced at regular intervals," the statement said.
