N.Z. Frigate For Far East Duty
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 29. H.M.N.Z.S. Royalist, which sailed from Auckland on May 20 for, duty with the Commonwealth strategic reserve fleet in Far East Asia, will return to Auckland on July 15 next year. She will be replaced by the frigate H.M.N.Z.S. Rotoiti, which will leave Auckland on May 5, and, after a work-up in Australia, will arrive in the Far East on June 21. This will be the Rotoiti’s first tour of duty in the Far East since the Korean War, where she spent a year from 1952 to 1953. On that occasion she steamed 58.000, miles and fired 13,400 rounds oil ammunition.
