“PUNCH” EDITOR TO RESIGN
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON. August 27. Mr Malcolm Muggeridge will resign from the post of editor of “Punch,” according to the “Evening News.” Mr Muggeridge. who is 54, has been editor since 1953. He became a national celebrity as a 8.8. C. television interviewer. His successor has not been named.
Segregation Protest.—An angry crowd of about 200 Indian and African buyers threatened today to boycott the third largest food market on the Witwatersrand at Springs, unless racial segregation notices were removed. The notices, put up last night, indicated where different races should stand on different sides of the lots for sale.—Springs (Transvaal), August 28.
