CARS COLLIDE HEAD-ON
Seven Injured: Six In Hospital (New Zeaiana Press Association) DUNEDIN, August 18. Seven persons were injured in a head-on collision between two cars on the main south road at Waihola pn Friday night. Six of them were admitted to the Balclutha Hospital and their condition tonight was described as being satisfactory. One car, travelling south, was driven by Eric Victor Mamaru, of Milton, and the other car was driven by Richard D. Bennett, of Invercargill. Mamaru received broken ribs and a passenger in his cab, Leslie D. Nyman, of Milton, was admitted to hospital with concussion. In the north-bound car. the driver received extensive chest injuries. The passengers admitted to hospital were: Mrs Mary Agnes Wardell, of Nightcaps, concussion; Thomas Wardell, of Nightcaps. fractured legs; George B. Bennett, of Invercargill, concussion; and R. A. Adcock, of Invercargill, fractured legs. Both cars were extensively damaged.
