Mr 1. R. Densem, of the State Hydro-electric Department, Invercargill, has been appointed an assistant engineer with the Christchurch Municipal Electricity Department. Mr S.' W. Bullen, 8.C0m., oi Christchurch, has been elected to the two-year scholarship of the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand. Mr Bullen, aged 23. hopes to study at the London School of-Economics. The scholarship, worth £2OO a year is tenable in England for two years. Mr D. K. McDermott, a draughtsman with the Waimairi County Council, and Mr G. Haughey, who is working for the Railways Department, have been appointed' draughtsmen at the Municipal Electricity Department. Cr. W. J. Cowles was appointed last evening to represent the Cite Council on the Christchurch Regional Planning Authority in place of Cr. J. Mathison, M.P., who resigned recently.
