Town Planning

Sir, —Cr. Mathison’s comment on my letter is hard to understand. What is the difference between residential “A” and “B”? Both A and B residential districts have homes. Are not both entitled to the same peaceful home surroundings? Cement works, lead mills, sand-blasting plants and other noisy industries should have no place where there are homes, be the area residential A, B, or light industrial.—Yours, etc.,

R. WOODHOUSE. July 29, 1957. [Mr J. Mathison, M.P., replied as follows: “The regulations under the act make provision for all that your correspondent desires. The ideal for which she is striving will be possible after the completion of the district schemes.”]
