Syntax Sprints At Mentone
MELBOURNE, July 30. The New Zealand champion stayer, syntax, pre-post favourite for the Caulfield Cup, was tested at Mentone today. Ridden by the top Victorian jockey, W. Williamson, he An i outside First Century over five furlongs in Imin 3see, next to the running rail on the course proper. His trainer, Fred Boysted, will decide this week whether to start Syntax at Caulfield on Saturday week.
