Police Search For Woman

/New Zeaiana Press Association! WELLINGTON, July 30. Hutt Valley police- today were unsuccessful in attempts to recover the body of a woman from the Hutt river. A workman near the Ava railway bridge, between Petone and Lower Hutt, saw a woman in the river this morning/ His attention was drawn by her screams. He advised the police who rushed at. once to the scene. They could not locate her in spite of four and a half hours of dragging operations.

A party of civilians in a large boat also spent most of today out oh the river. The police were notified at Lower Hutt yesterday that a woman had disappeared but today they had no comment to make on any connexion between the two matters.
