Fine For Breaking Engagement
(New Zea Lana Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 14. The New Zealand Racing Conference , decided unanimously on an addition to the Rules of Racing, proposed by the executive committee, giving power to judicial committees of clubs to fine owners or trainers responsible for breaking a riding engagement wth a jockey, a sum not exceeding £2O. The Conference decided, in accord with a further remit from the executive committee, that, although a horse may have been entered and accepted for a race in accordance with the rules, it shall not be eligible to start if its name does not appear in the official race card, or if the ngme in the official race card does not in the opinion of the stewards sufficiently identify the horse. In any circumstances- where it is considered the name in the race card does not sufficiently identify the horse the stewards must notify the owner of their decisioh bfefore the totalisator opens on the race, otherwise the horse shall be deemed sufficiently identified and qualified to •tart.
