Trophy Changes Hands

The trophy, which was presented to the owner of the winner of the Waimate Hunt Cup Steeplechase at the Waimate Hunt Club’s meeting on Saturday, quickly changed hands three times during the presentation ceremony. The trophy, which had been given to the club by Mr J. S. Hamilton, was an attractive canteen of cultery. Mr Hamilton, who owns Gabriel's Gully, the winner of the race, accepted the trophy in the birdcage after the race. He in turn made a gift of . it to his trainer, H. A. Anderton, who passed it on to his daughter. 1 Miss Anderton will be married, soon to R. J. Skelton, who was leading jockey last season.
