Mrs Robson Beaten At Birmingham

(N.Z Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) BIRMINGHAM, July 13. Mrs J. Robson (New Zealand) was beaten, 6-1. 6-2, by Miss A. Mortimer (Britain) in the women’s singles semi-finals in the Midland lawn tennis championships yesterday. In a women’s singles semi-final. Miss R. Morrison (New Zealand) was beaten by Miss M. De Amorim (Brazil), 7-5, 3-6, 6-2. Miss Ruia Morrison and Mrs Robson, beat Angela Mortimer (Britain) and Miss M.xle Amorim (Brazil), 6-8, 7-5, 6-3, in the- women’s doubles finals.
