CARPET HEATING DEVICE.—The most revolutionary method of heating carpet is here demonstrated in a busy corridor of the Ministry of Works in London. Of fibre glass yarn, it is made into a thin panel with an electric element woven through. The panel is made to be sandwiched between the underfelt and the carpet. It has been developed by the Isopad Company, London, for the Ministry of Works. It is understood that if tests are satisfactory the hew heating device will be installed at Buckingham Palace. It costs about £1 10s a square foot.
