More losses than gains were shown by sterling last week, but most changes were small. Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates, as advised yesterday by the Bank of New South Wales, were as follows: N.Z. on— New York: buying, 2.7876 dollars to £NZI (compared with 2.7878 dollars on July 1); selling, 2.7554 dollars (2.7560). Montreal: 2.6548 dollars (2.6560); 2.6203 dollars (2.6215). Belgium: 141.99 francs (same); 137.50 (137.70). Denmark: 19.59 kroner (19.61); 18.92 kroner (18.93). France: 988 francs (989); 960 francs (961). Netherlands: 10.73 guilders (same); 10.47 guilders (10.48). Sweden: 14.56 kroner (14.55); 14.22 kroner (14.21). Switzerland: 12.22 francs (12.23); 11.97 francs (11.98). Western Germany: 11.68 marks (11.71); 11.44 marks (11.46). Italy: 1742 lire (1744); 1707 lire! (1708). Austria: 72.42 schillings (72.51); I 70.93 schillings (71.03). 1
