N.Z. TOUR OF AUSTRALIA

Team Leaves From Harewood

The New Zealand representative badminton team left Christchurch airport yesterday afternoon for Sydney, to begin its tour of Australia. The tour, which will comprise 16 matches, will culminate in a match with Australia for the Whyte JTTophy. which Australia holds at present. The members of the team are: P. Skelt (Southland) captain. A. Skelt (Southland). N. Thompson (Southland). A. Stephens (Wellington), Miss S. Cox (Wellington). Miss A. McKenzie (North Otago), Miss N. Fleming (Wellington), and Mrs A. Butterworth (Auckland). The manager of the team is Mr R. Gimblett.

Shortly after arriving in Australia, the team will split into two sections, each of two men and two women, and will tour separately, meeting again for the Whyte Trophy match at Newcastle on July 26 and 27.
