STUDY OF N.Z. LANDFORM
Fulbright Scholar’s Project
Mr William J. Breed, a graduate of the University of Arizona, has arrived in New Zealand to study geomorphology, on a New Zealand aspect of which he intends to write a thesis for his master of science degree. He is a Fulbright scholar. Mr Breed who is 28 has had several jobs since he graduated. He worked for the Shell Oil Company at Midland, Texas, and was with the Ground Water Division of the United States Geological Survey based on Denver, Colorado. For some time Mr Breed worked at the Museum of Northern Arizona at Flagstaff, 100 miles from the Grand Canyon. The museum specialised in geology, anthropology, archaeology and natural sciences.
Under Dr. Maxwell Gage, senior lecturer in geology at Canterbury University College, Mr Breed will study for from nine months to a year. For the first two months he plans to look around New Zealand, doing research work and choosing a thesis subject for the rest of his stay.
