Flagpole Difficulty.—Because the flagpole on Epworth Chambers, Hereford street was not in working order the United States Consular Agent at Christchurch (Mr W. G. Quirk) had to fly the United States Hag from the M.L.C. building to mark Independence Day yesterday. The M.L.C. building is across Manchester street from Epworth Chambers where Mr Quirk has his office.
