Fined £l0 For Theft Of Tools
William Phillip Sellars, a donkeyman greaser In the Port Halifax, pleaded guilty in the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court to a charge of stealing a kit of tools valued at £lB, the property of Arthur Sullivan. He was convicted and fined £ 10 by Messrs A. B. P. Large and R. H. Duff, Justices of the Peace.
Senior-Sergeant J. C. Graham said that Sullivan left his car outside the Harbour Board cool store when he went bn duty at 4 p.m. on Monday. About 6.30 p.m. he discovered that some person had entered the car and that the kit of tools was missing. He informed the police. Accused took the kit to the master of the Port Halifax and said that he found it under his bunk when he woke up. The master handed the kit over to the police, and the accused was arrested.
