11 Storeys In 10 Months The main structural work on the 11-storey State building in the Auckland Civic Centre was completed on Monday with the pouring of the last 90 cubic yards of concrete. The 11 floors were built at the rate of one each four weeks. During the next few weeks a roof will be built over the newly laid top floor, and work will then be started on the lift house. The plumbing and electrical services are nearing completion, and about half of the 1500 aluminium alloy window frames are in position. The building is not due to be completed until April, 1959.
