MELBOURNE The strong tone of the investment market was well maintained today, although’ some profit taking was noticeable at the afternoon call. Overall rises exceeded falls by over three-to-one and trading volume generally was heavy. Silver-loads were firmer with North Broken Hill rising 3s 6d and Broken Hill South 3s. In a weaker oil group Ampol Exploration dropped Is 6d. Other mining was variable.
