COMMERCIAL Sharemarket Buoyant And Active
Turnover on the. Christchurch Stock Exchange exceeded 8000 shares and £6OOO worth of Government stock yesterday.. Rises exceeded falls by ten to two. Canterbury Frozen Meat rights were firmer again. One parcel sold unaltered at £l5 10s and another at £l5 15s, with buyers at the afternoon call prepared to continue. New Zealand Farmers’ Fertiliser also made a good gain to sell at 39s 6d. Other shares sold at higher prices were New Zealand Insurance, New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative ordinary and A preference, E.Z. Industries, G. J. Coles, Skellerup preference, Woolworths and J. Mercer Industries preference. N.Z. Breweries and William Cable Holdings were easier.
