Theatre Dress
Sir,—At last we can see and hear the wonderful gems of Gilbert and Sullivan. This is a privilege we should live up to—or, should I say, dress up to. Over the last few years New Zealanders have become accustomed to wearing informal clothes to stage performances. Why not take that seldom-worn evening wear out of the closet and use it? Let us raise the standard of dress we have let fall so miserably. The practice is accepted without question in England and I think it is high time it was translated here.— Yours, etc., 808 SCOTT. June 25, 1957.
