Miss Ruia Morrison To Tour U.S.

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 25. Miss Ruia Morrison, the New Zealand tennis player competing at Wimbledon, has received an invitation from a leading American player, Miss Darlene Hard, to tour the United States. The tour would conclude with the United States championships at Forest Hills. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association has agreed to the tour, and extended leave has been grantd by the Auckland Education Board. Miss Morrison will leave for the United States after Wimbledon. Miss Hard has arranged for her admission to the- tournaments, and also transport by private car. Mr J. Waititi, chairman of the Maori* committee, which organised the appeal for funds to send Miss Morrison overseas, said that there was sufficient in reserve to pay for any extra expenses which Miss Morrison might incur.
