H. J. Gosset, a member of the Christchurch B team which won a surprising victory over Waitikiri in the Woodward Cup inter-club competition last Sunday. Gosset, playing number two, beat R. J. Ramsay. Although an injury prevented him playing much golf last year, Gosset is a good match player, and in the 1954 national championships at Heretaunga only five amateurs finished ahead of him in the open. He was the top Canterbury player in the field.
