COMMEMORATION OF AIR RACE
Display In New Terminal
Mr Russell Clark, of the Canterbury University College School of Art, will be asked to prepare sketches of suitable designs for a display at the new air terminal buildings at Harewood to commemorate the Canterbury international air race.
If possible, the designs are to incorporate a suggestion by Mr Hume D. Christie, who was president of the Air Race Council, that the feature might include a model of half the globe over which the air race was flown, with the winners’ names and times underneath. The Air Race Council recently offered the City Council £2OO for a suitable feature.
Mr Paul Pascoe, architect for the buildings, and the City Engineer (Mr E. Somers) will discuss the proposal with Mr Clark
