Tubers must be of table size, of good shape in relation to variety, ripe, in good condition, fairly clean, free from disease, damage and wet rot, and packed in sound sacks or bags of good quality, max. sixe of which shall be 46in x 23in. Subject to tolerances as follows:—TAßLE SIZE: a tolerance of 5% by count of tubers which will pass through a square, sides of which measure 2in. EARTH: Not to exceed 2% by weight. WET ROT: Very odd wet rot. DISEASE, DAMAGE and WET ROT: Tolerance total not to exceed 5% by weight. N.Z. No. 2 GRADE: Specifications same as No. 1 Grade. For TABLE SIZE tolerance read 10% by count of tubers. If, however, damage, scab, misshapen, second growth or any other defect in tubers or sacks is slight and of such little consequence it can reasonably be ignored, and provided always it is not likely to impair keeping qualities or affect appearance to any appreciable extent, then grader shall be entitled to disregard such damage, etc. However, in respect of any one only of the following causes tolerances may be increased as follows:—TAßLE SIZE: up to 15%. EARTH: up to 4%. SCAB: up to 15% of total skin area of the line provided not more than 4% by number of the tubers are badly affected. MISSHAPEN AND SECOND GROWTH: up to 10% by count of tubers.
