Catholic Women’s League

•‘The present and the future rests entirely in your hands,” said Bishop Joyce, addressing the Homemakers of the Catholic Women’s League, on their eighth birthday celebration. Special guests were husbands of members and also Mrs W. Amos, president of the league, who cut the birthday cake. Mrs Amos compared the present active membership of 400 with the early meetings when 60 members assembled. A film in colour and commentary on the Olympic Games was given by Mr Kevin Meates. Mr Tim O’Gorman moved a vote of thanks to the entertainers, who included a trio of instrumentalists. Messrs Doyle. Ferguson, and Smythe. Mrs R. Boland, convener, welcomed new members.
