CHILLED BEEF FOR JAPAN

First South Island Shipment

A shipment of chilled beef will be taken by the Japanese steamer. Meika Maru, which is due at Lyttelton tomorrow from Japan. This will be the first shipment of chilled beef for Japan from the South Island. About 260 tons will be sent, and part of it, at least, will be boner quality cow beef in quarters.
