Joint Housekeeping
Scheme
The first meeting of the new executive of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes was held recently, when Mrs Newton presided. The following officers were elected: vice-presi-dents. Mrs R. H. Hayman and Mrs A. Page; secretary, Mrs F. Ogden: assistant secretary. Mrs W. Anderson; treasurer. Mrs L. M. Kellaway; committee, Mrs W. Anderson (C.W.I. Centre), Mrs R. H. Hayman (Mairehau), Mrs L. M. Kellaway (Coalgate), Mrs G. D. Marsh (Glentunnel), Mrs F. Ogden (South Brighton). Mrs A. Page (Sheffield), Mrs G. G. Parkins (Mairehau), Mrs D. Westaway (Kirwee); voluntary organisers. Mesdames Candy and Morten. A joint housekeeping scheme has been set up with Mrs Prebble as convener and Mesdames Anderson and Page representing the Canterbury Federation. Mrs Anderson is convener of the joint rooms committee, with Mesdames Hayman and Parkins as representatives.
Affiliation with other organisations was discussed and representatives were elected. After the meeting, the retiring officers. Mesdames Holmes. McGregor Smith. McMeekan, Pattison, and Miss Lewton. were entertained to lunch by the members of the Canterbury and Canterbury East federations. and presented with floral sprays and book tokens by the two presidents, Mesdames Newton and Prebble.
