HOMES PARADE IN 1958
Decision By Committee
The final meeting of the 1957 Parade of Homes committee this week decided to hold another parade in 1958 and to call for applications from builders at an early date. Reports were presented and some of the recommendations were:—
(1) Not more than 20 houses should be included in the parade. (2) A cul-de-sac is preferable for the parade site. (3) If possible, the wiring should be underground. (4) All traffic should be prohibited from the parade street during the parade. (5) The parade should be held earlier in the year and more time given for planning of the houses. (6) More booklets should be printed and they should include a plan of each house. The committee agreed that the success of the parade was in part because of the fine weather. The very little damage was a tribute to the orderliness of the people who visited the parade. At a small social function after the meeting, a presentation was made to the secretary (Mr C. A. Lake) by the acting-chairman (Mr W. E. Cassidy) on behalf of the committee.
