FISHERMAN’S BODY FOUND

Search For Second Man Continues (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, April 28. The body of Athol Joseph Wadone of the two fishermen, who were on the Bluff fishing smack, Gekeita, found wrecked last week on Coal Island in Preservation Inlet was recovered during the week-end. The body was found washed up on the rocky windswept coast by a party of searchers about half a mile on the seaward side of the wrecked boat. It is believed that relatives of the dead man were in the party. This morning, a police party, consisting of Sergeant J. Harman and Constables C. Graeme and G. Wilson was flown into Preservation Inlet by amphibian aircraft. The body was flown back, arriving in Invercargill at 6.10 to-night. The police party is continuing the search for the other missing man, Cyril Waddick, a brother of the dead man. CAR AND BICYCLE COLLIDE Father And Daughter Injured Mr Relf Bond, of 14 Waller terrace, and his daughter, Judith, were admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 7.5 p.m. yesterday suffering from abrasions. They were injured when the bicycle on which Mr Bond was double-banking his daughter was involved in a collision with a car in Selwyn street. The driver of the car stopped, took them to a nearby house and telephoned for an ambulance. Late last evening, however, the driver had not reported to the police. Man Injured In Collision Arthur Sams, whose address was given as care of the West Melton Hotel, was admitted to the Burwood Hospital yesterday with facial injuries suffered when he was involved in a car collision on the Main West road.
