RELIGIOUS PLAY PRESENTED
St. Mary’s Church, Addington On Good Friday evening a crowded congregation in St. Mary's Church, Addington, saw the drama of Christ’s betrayal, arrest, and desertion presented in i modern setting through a religious play. The title of the play—“ Angels Unawares”—is taken from a verse in the Epistle to the Hebrews: “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels anawares.” The author. Stuart B. Jackman, has constructed his plot to show a group of people behaving in a modern situation in exactly the same way as did some of the chief characters who were close to Christ on the night of His arrest. The actors were all chosen from among the parishioners at St. Mary’s, and few of them had had such stage experience. Coached by Messrs M. H. Money and R. Entwistle they rose to the demands of the drama in a way that would have done credit to far more experienced actors. *
