WOMAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL

Alleged Assailant Arrested (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 21. A woman was rushed to the Wellington Hospital early yesterday morning suffering from head injuries received when she, allegedly, was assaulted in Pirie street. The police, soon after, detained a man. The woman was Miss Katherine Carson, aged 50, whose home is in Pirie street. Her condition yesterday was reported to be satisfactory. Miss Carson was returning to her home shortly after 1 a.m. when, it is alleged, she was assaulted from behind in Pirie street. It is believed she was struck on the head several times and fell to the ground screaming. Her assailant immediately made off, but a passer-by told the police.
