YACHTING
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 21. The first race in the inter-univer-sity Idlealong class yachting competition yesterday was marred by the withdrawal of the Otago and Auckland boats. Soon after the end of the first round of the triangular course, Otago’s shroud parted, and one round later, Auckland’s bobstay chainplate carried away. Results:— First Race.—Amina (Canterbury), lhr 38min 25sec, 1; Spray (Victoria), Ihr 51min 50sec, 2. Second Race.—Amina (Auckland), 2hr 9min 31sec, 1; Koneke (Victoria), 2hr lOmin 29sec, 2; Spray (Canterbury), 2hr 13min 54sec, 3; Legent (Otago), 2hr 15min 30sec, 4.
