Chlorine Freed In Explosion

(N.Z. Press Association Copyright) NITRO (West Virginia), April 17. A huge explosion blew apart a three-storey building at a big chemical factory today, freeing deadly chlorine gas which forced 1500 people to evacuate their homes.

Three workers were killed and six critically injured. Chlorine gas escaped minutes after the explosion at the big Mosanto Chemical Company factory, 10 miles east of Charleston. State police ordered the evacuation of 1500 people from their homes.
