HAURAKI WHALING ISSUE

(New Zealand Press Association, AUCKLAND, April 17.

Shareholders of Hauraki Whaling, Ltd., today approved an increase in the company’s nominal capital from £lOO,OOO to £175,000 by the creation of 300,000 ordinary 5s shares. It is proposed to offer £25,000 of the increase for cash subscription in the form of 5£ per cent- convertible notes or ordinary 5s shares. Shareholders may apply for notes or shares, or both. The call for the present capital issue stemmed mainly from the extreme weather conditions last winter which directly increased the company’s capital costs, said the chairman, Mr W. W. Gunson.
