Queen Gives Out Maundy Money

ST. ALBANS' (Hertfordshire), April 18. The Queen made a break with a 400-year-old tradition today when she presented Maundy money to 31 men and 31 women in St. Albans Abbey. It was the first time since the reign of King Charles II that the Sovereign distributed the silver coihs outside London. The ceremony is usually held in Westminster Abbey.
