Air Service To End
Tasman Empire Airways will end its flying-boat link between Fiji and Tonga in June, after nearly four years of monthly flights under charter to the Tongan Government. The service is being cut at the request of the Tongan Government, since the Tongan Copra Board has bought a small ship. The service has been a link for mail, passengers, and cargo, but has had a small potential and has not. been profitable, the company said.—(PJL)
