MR NORDMEYER’S VISIT

A senior member of the Parliamentary Labour Party (Mr A. H. Nordmeyer) will pay a visit to Christchurch this week. The member of Parliam<ent for Riccarton (Mr M. A. Connelly) who is arranging the visit said last evening that Mr Nordmeyer would arrive in Christchurch by inter-island steamer express tomorrow morning.

At 10.30 a.m. Mr Nordmeyer will visit the factory of C.W.F. Hamilton and Company, Ltd., at Middleton, and in the afternoon he will visit the Crown Crystal Glass Company’s plant in Hornby. In the evening he will address a public meeting in the Sumner Methodist Hall.

Mr Nordmeyer will visit M. O’Brien and Company’s footwear factory on Wednesday afternoon and in the evening at the Trades Hall will address a combined meeting of branches and unions affiliated to the Labour Representation Committee.

During his visit Mr Nordmeyer will be accompanied by Mr Connelly and the president of the Christchurch Labour Representation Committee (Mr T. Martin) and other Christchurch Opposition members of Parliament if available. He will return to Wellington by air on Thursday morning.
