WRESTLING

Visit By Viking Palm A three weeks' visit to Canterbury will be made by one of the world's greatest amateur wrestlers, Vikina Palm, of Sweden. This was announced at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Amateur Wrestling Association's management committee last evening.

Palm, who holds two Olympic gold medals, will give instruction to local amateurs during his visit.

Another highlight of amateur wrestling this season will be the Canterbury versus Australia wrestling tournament in July Thirteen Australian representatives will meet Canterbury’s best wrestlers at this tournament.

The South Island wrestling championships will also be held in Christchurch this year.

Officers elected were: chairman. Mr J. Mclnnes; secretary, Mr B. Win: treasurer. Mr J. Pocock. The committee will be elected after nominations from gymnasiums.
