A.T.C. FLYING TRAINEES

Eight Air Training Corps cadets from the South Island will have interviews for final selection for flying scholarships. The scholarships will be tenable at the Central Flying School, Wigram, during the May and August school holidays. Six boys are taken on each course.

During the course trainees will have 12 hours’ flying Auster aircraft, and go solo. No continuation of flying training is given by the R.N.Z.A.F.

The South Island candidates are: Cadets P. G, Pinney (Christ's College), N. J. Ferguson (Christchurch Boys’ High School). C. A. Sinclair (Ministry of Works, Christchurch), G. N. Lucas (Kings High School, Dunedin), R. L. Holland (Ashburton High School), E. M. Burns (Blenheim), L. S. Penny (Nelson), J. D. McHerron (Westport Technical School).
